Ananth Technologies opens 15,000 sqm spacecraft manufacturing unit in Bengaluru

ISRO Chairman S Somanath on Wednesday inaugurated Ananth Technologies' 15,000 square metre spacecraft manufacturing unit at Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board Aerospace Park here. The unit can conduct assembly, integration & testing of four large spacecraft simultaneously, the company said in a statement. All four units are independent of each other and capable of conducting the end-to-end integration of processes in four different class of spacecraft, it said. Somanath was quoted as saying: "I am certain that India's Space Policy will enable us to build satellites not only for domestic consumption but for international market too". "India's Remote Sensing Data Policy and Launch Vehicle Policy are in line and these will help further the Indian Space programmes. The Office of Communication, also known as Ofcom, which is the UK’s communications regulator, published a report according to which women are more likely to be victims of online abuse and harmful content compared to men Soon after the report was published Ofcom chief executive Dame Melanie Dawes stated that tech companies need to do more to protect women who eventually are likely to get distressed by such content or the abuse. She also noted that companies need to prioritise user safety over revenue. Only 21% of those who reported content to social networks said it was removed as a result, according to the study of more than 6,600 adults in the UK, and half said nothing occurred at all. India ready with consultation paper on cryptocurrencies

Inflation in India should moderate in coming months and the government is ready with its consultation paper on cryptocurrencies, economic affairs secretary Ajay Seth told reporters on the sidelines of an event on Monday. Seth said there needed to be a global consensus reached on cryptocurrencies and India would look at regulations enforced in other countries before deciding how it would regulate. KK died of cardiac arrest, says initial medical report

A preliminary post-mortem report has revealed that singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK, died due to a massive heart attack, sources said. In their preliminary report to the Kolkata Police, SSKM hospital mentioned that the singer died due to 'myocardial infarction' commonly known as heart attack. The preliminary report indicated nothing "unnatural as far as death is concerned". Earlier, the Kolkata Police had registered an unnatural death case over the death of the singer. According to police sources, his face and head bore injuries. The singer, on Tuesday, May 31, had collapsed at the Grand Hotel, under the New Market police station area, after returning from a show in Kolkata and was rushed to a private hospital in the city, where he was pronounced dead.
